I really do enjoy my character. I see a few characteristics that remind me of myself in Garrett. But at the same time, there are quite a few aspects of Garrett that are completely different from me.
Here's a few examples. I can't give much away, but the first scene you see Garrett is where I felt very parallel to him. He does an activity that I really enjoy, and I use that to get closer to the character and the truth of the moment.
On the other hand, Garrett's personality is a lot more outgoing than I am. To capture is personality, I didn't just want to make my voice louder, sound more confident, or be more physical. It also helped to explore where his expressiveness and his extrovert nature comes from. And that helped me understand him a lot more, and I hope it shows on screen.
